Background: BusinessMr. Klein worked briefly as a government employee at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), after which he transferred to Booz Allen Hamilton as a Senior Consultant providing Scientific, Engineering, and Technical Assistance to DARPA and several other Federal agencies. He is still currently employed at BAH part time while completing his Ph.D. Prior to his government involvement, Mr. Klein was one of three co-founders and president of Crank Technologies, Inc., a startup targeting web Application Services, such as electronic portals, CRM and supply chain management systems, e-commerce storefronts, and real-estate search and listing services. Mr. Klein was also the chief network architect, and maintained the company's data center, Autonomous System Peering with upstream backbone providers, and BGP4 routing. Crank Technologies, Inc. was acquired by Aspen Communications, LLC in 2003. From 1999-2000, Mr. Klein worked at Broadcast Towers, Inc. as a microwave and fiber optic telecommunications technician, where his primary responsibilities included the testing, calibration, installation, and repair of hot-standby enabled point-to-point terrestrial microwave communication systems ranging in capacity from fractional T1 to full OC12. Background: EducationMr. Klein is currently a Ph.D. Candidate with the Very Low Frequency Group of the Space, Telecommunications, and Radioscience Laboratory of the Electrical Engineering department at Stanford University. Mr. Klein received his Bachelors of Science in Computer and Systems Engineering and Computer Science, Magna Cum Laude, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is a member of the Tau Beta Pi, Eta Kappa Nu, and Upsilon Pi Epsilon professional societies. |
