Definition of an Interrupt, Interrupt Request (IRQ) and Interrupt Service Routine (ISR). Context switches are introduced. Example interrupt sources are discussed, and sample code for a timer overflow on the ATmega128 is analyzed. An example of interrupt preemption is covered. Timers are introduced, along with their clock sources and prescalers. The timer peripheral on the Atmel AVR series is introduced, to be completed at the start of Lecture 11. |
